Singularity University was founded more than a decade ago to empower individuals and organizations across the globe to learn, connect, and innovate breakthrough solutions using exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, nanotech, and digital biology. Because these technologies are rapidly accelerating and converging, we’re seeing a wealth of exciting new opportunities to solve humanity’s grand challenges. Our growing global community of innovators, leaders, and change agents applies these technologies to create positive change in the world, addressing the global grand challenge (GGC) areas of health, environment, security, education, energy, food, prosperity, water, space, disaster resilience, shelter, and governance. In addressing each GGC, we encourage our community to solve from three perspectives: (1) ensuring basic needs are met for all people, (2) sustaining and improving quality of life, and (3) mitigating future risks. To celebrate the innovation we’re seeing, and to create a greater sense of urgency around the work that remains ahead of us, we’ve published a report sharing our community’s progress to date in solving these 12 challenges. In The State of the Global Grand Challenges 2019, we provide an overview of the GGCs, including detailed assessments of their current status, examples of key technological solutions impacting each challenge, examples of promising solutions generated by the SU ecosystem and beyond, and a link to a companion website offering resources for further learning and inspiration on each GGC.The report is a must-have resource for anyone seeking to create positive change in the world. Get your copy of this free report and be inspired to be part of the solution! Then join us by downloading the SU App and connecting with our community. Tell us about the work you’re doing by creating an impact goal. The world is waiting for you!
