First launched in 2009, the Singularity Executive Program (EP) has helped leaders re-frame their perspective and develop deeper understanding of the technologies shaping the future.The program's purpose is to inspire radically new ways of thinking — the kind of mindset necessary for starting new companies or reshaping organizations seeking change.
The EP is for those ready to take the next transformative leap, to own the future and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Aaike van Vugt has a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Delft University of Technology. He is the co-founder of VSParticle, aiming to help research and industry in the production of inorganic nanoparticles with the goal to help researchers in the fundamental development of new products like batteries, catalyst, electronics, or nano-medicines.
Aaron Frank is a researcher, writer, and consultant who has spent a decade working in Silicon Valley. As a writer, his articles have appeared in Vice, Wired UK, Forbes, and Venturebeat. He routinely advises large companies, startups, and government organizations on trends related to a broad set of emerging technologies, with a focus on augmented/virtual reality and virtual environments
Alix is a researcher in philosophy of technology and the Director of Curated and Research Content at Singularity. She investigates the societal and cultural impact of exponential technologies. Her current research centres around two large scale projects. The first focus is on the effects of automated decision-making algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, and algorithmic bias.
Carlo van de Weijer, a prominent figure in the automotive sector, boasts executive roles at Siemens and TomTom. With a master's degree in mechanical engineering from TU Eindhoven and a PhD from TU in Graz, his expertise bridges engineering and technology. Presently, Carlo directs the Eindhoven AI System Institute at Eindhoven University of Technology and serves as a Fellow for future mobility at the Deloitte Center for the Edge. He advises global ministries and industries on mobility's future and contributes insights through a weekly column in a leading Dutch newspaper, leaving a significant impact on technology and transportation discourse.
Dr. Mark Jackson is the Senior Quantum Evangelist at Quantinuum. He received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Duke University and Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Columbia University. He then spent 10 years researching superstring theory and cosmology, co-authoring almost 40 technical articles.
Melba Kurman writes about the ways in which new technologies impact our daily lives. She is the co-author of two books and several articles about driverless cars, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing. Melba is a veteran of the software industry and a graduate of Cornell University, the University of Illinois and the U.S. Peace Corps. She is currently working on a book about creative machines.
Naveen is an intensely curious entrepreneur who is focused on ideas that will push humanity forward. He is the author of the award-winning book Moonshots: Creating a World of Abundance. His current moonshot adventures are Viome and Moon Express. As a serial entrepreneur, he previously founded InfoSpace, Intelius, and TalentWise.
Nestor Maslej is a Research Manager at Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). In this position, he manages the AI Index and Global AI Vibrancy Tool. In developing tools that track the advancement of AI, Nestor hopes to make the AI space more accessible to policymakers, business leaders and the lay public. Nestor’s work on AI, namely the AI Index, has been cited in newspapers across the globe including: The New York Times, Financial Times, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Vox, Al Jazeera, Fortune, Forbes, San Francisco Chronicle, Politico, The Register, Der Spiegel, The Verge, IEEE Spectrum, VentureBeat and more. Nestor’s publications have likewise informed AI policymaking worldwide, having been referenced by policymakers in countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Japan as well as Korea.
Simone Planté holds a wealth of experience spanning 20 years, encompassing technology companies worldwide. With roles in investment banking, entrepreneurship and Venture Capital, she stands as the Founder and Managing Partner of Sydney-based HumAIn Capital. Specializing in Artificial Intelligence and deep tech investments, Simone is dedicated to fostering positive human impact through technology. Her passion for bridging Offline (human systems) with Online (AI systems) drives her work. Beginning her career at Morgan Stanley corporate finance, Simone collaborated with technology pioneers in Silicon Valley. She then ventured into successful tech startup ventures, following which she lived abroad in San Francisco, New York, London and Hong Kong for over two decades. Now back in Australia, she brings her global perspective to contribute to technology's transformative potential.
Dr. Vivienne Ming is a theoretical neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and author. She co-founded Socos Labs, her fifth company, an independent institute exploring the future of human potential
Wolfgang Fengler is the CEO of World Data Lab, a leading player in forecasting consumer spending. With over two decades of experience at the World Bank, Wolfgang has lived and worked in the USA, Asia, Indonesia, and Africa. He has co-authored Delivering Aid Differently and Africa's Economic Boom. Prior to his tenure at the World Bank, he founded and led the Africa Consulting Company. Wolfgang's passion lies in harnessing data to drive positive global change He launched data models like population.io and worldpoverty.io, earning recognition from Bill Gates and the title "big data virtuoso" by DER SPIEGEL. Wolfgang's work has been featured in FT, ECONOMIST and CNN. Co-authoring influential publications, he's known for "Delivering Aid Differently" and "Africa’s Economic Boom". Beyond economics, he's a football enthusiast who organized Kenya's "Nairobi Mini World Cup" for kids. With a PhD from the University of Hamburg, Wolfgang drives economic discourse and data-driven change globally.
