Expert Bio

Diederick Croese is a multidisciplinary leader at the intersection of quantum technology, law, and society, currently serving as Director of Quantum Delta NL's Centre for Quantum & Society — the Dutch national initiative driving the responsible development and integration of quantum technologies through research, innovation, and societal engagement. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Open Quantum Institute (OQI), hosted at CERN, which advances global and inclusive access to quantum computing in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A serial entrepreneur and innovation catalyst, Diederick co-founded Applied Complexity, Simurgh Academy, SingularityU Benelux, and Minkowski, and previously co-founded Fast Ventures at Deloitte. He served on the European Space Agency's Human and Robotic Exploration (HRE) Innovation Board and has contributed to organizations including HF Young, Founder Institute Amsterdam, and TEDxAmsterdam, as well as serving as a moderator for innovation and complexity programs at Comenius. Diederick began his career as a lawyer at Clifford Chance and holds academic credentials in law from the University of Amsterdam and Fordham University New York, governance from Erasmus ESAA, and philosophy from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam — a foundation that uniquely positions him as a thought leader bridging quantum science, ethics, governance, and global impact.
